Homelessness in Slovenia emerged as a mass phenomenon after the transition to the capitalist system and has been on the rise ever since. At the initiative of the students from Faculty of Education program Kralji ulice (Kings of the Street) was created in 2005 to develop innovative programs for homeless. Among the efforts of this project one of the most important is providing opportunities for safe and decent housing for the homeless. Discussion will be led by prof. Bojan Dekleva and invited guests.

Friday, 29. 11.: School space reflection
In 2018, a series of roundtable discussions took place at the Faculty of Education to discuss critically the current state and development of primary and secondary education in Slovenia. Focus was to criticize neoliberal social trends in education, such as individualization, increase in competitiveness, quantification of knowledge and categorization of learners. Participants thought that the modern school was not paying enough attention to social and emotional learning, collaboration and reciprocity and empowerment to affiliation. To what extent do Faculty of Education studies contribute to these trends? Discussion will be led by prof. Bojan Dekleva and invited guests.
