With his captured images of Brazilian flora and fauna, Marcellus Nishimoto tries to make visible the dangers of extinction. Similar to the first scientists who collected, analysed and preserved the knowledge of nature, Nishimoto conducts extensive research into Brazil’s biodiversity and portrays the rainforest’s inhabitants in their full glory. Birds, plants, insects and other forms of life are thus the subjects of Nishimoto’s paintings, with which he reminds viewers of the biodiversity and the future of these species while the Brazilian rainforest is facing its greatest threats ever.
