Organic Jewellery

The material for the jewellery of Flavia Amadeu designs comes from the Amazon rainforest and its rubber trees. The Brazilian designer supports local producers and artisans by collaborating with their products, such as the sap of trees made into latex. With her jewellery, Amadeu thus creates sustainable fashion that is locally sourced and produced, and she funnels money back to the residents of the Brazilian rainforest. Together with the Project Tecbor/Lateq from the University of Brasília, she is establishing ways of supporting local communities as well as the environment.
